Interfaith Iftar Dinner – Ramadan
June 28, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
| FreeThe 2nd Community is joining with The Dialogue Institute of the Southwest-DFW to invite you to share an iftar (fast-breaking) dinner during Ramadan, the holiest time of the year for Muslims around the world. The Dialogue Institute is facilitating iftar dinners. Muslims will prepare the food and join those who attend for a social time and sharing of food. This provides a wonderful opportunity to experience Ramadan with Muslims and make new friends. Families with children are welcome.
This year Ramadan begins June 6th and continues until July 4th. It is a time of fasting and reflection of Muslims, “breaking fast” after sundown each day for 30 days. On June 28 sundown is at 8:39 p.m. A social time and brief presentations will start at 7:30 and the meal will be served at 8:40.
Please register because it is important for us to know the number will attend. There is no charge. Please let us know if you need free childcare for younger children.
