Charter for Compassion Workshop – Men’s Conference

Mo Ranch Men’t Conference is an annual weekend retreat for men. This year’s conference theme is “Eating Plums in the Peach Orchard.” This particular workshop will be given on Saturday, 10:30 – 11:30 am and again 2:15 – 3:15 pm. Th workshop will be participatory, dynamic, spending some time on the question “what is compassion,” then summarizing the history of the Charter for Compassion International (CCI), PC(USA)’s affirmation and partnership with CCI, and Dallas / Fort Worth area experience. There will be specific focus on Richardson, Texas experience through the work of Compassionate DFW, a grassroots organization that was “spawned” by St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church, and whose mission is to encourage intentional affirmation of the Charter, compassion and compassionate action in all areas of individual and community life using the Golden Rule as guiding principle.
